# Connect Grok Bot to a real software engineer.

Install one plugin and your Bot can fix bugs, build features, review pull requests and ship in your repositories. Reason works on its own cloud machines and opens the pull request. You approve.

[Set up Reason](https://reasonmachines.com/agents?login=1) · [Install plugin](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)

## How it works

1. Open Plugins.
2. Search “Reason”. Add. That’s the whole setup.
3. @reason with a task, in plain words.
4. Reason starts a session on its own cloud machine.
5. It reads the code, reproduces the flake, writes the fix.
6. Tests pass, twenty runs in a row.
7. A pull request lands. Checks go green.
8. “also add dark mode to settings.” A second session runs in parallel.
9. You review and merge. Nothing ships without you.
10. The deploy is verified in production.

## Meet the Grok Bot crew

Six Reasons, one for each part of shipping code, from the first bug report to a verified deploy. Add one to Grok Bot and @mention it like any teammate.

- **Bug-fix Reason**: Reproduces the bug, finds the cause and opens a pull request with the fix and a test. [Open in Grok](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)
- **Feature Reason**: Turns a sentence or an issue into a working feature, with screenshots of it running. [Open in Grok](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)
- **PR Review Reason**: Reviews every pull request, flags the problems that matter and pushes the fixes. [Open in Grok](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)
- **CI Reason**: Watches your checks, traces a red build or a flaky test to its cause and gets it green. [Open in Grok](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)
- **Codebase Q&A Reason**: Answers how your code works, where a thing lives and why, with links to the lines. [Open in Grok](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)
- **Deploy Reason**: Merges approved work, follows the deploy and verifies the change in production. [Open in Grok](https://github.com/reason-machines/reason-plugins)

## Set up in three steps

1. **Add the plugin**: In Grok Bot, open Plugins, search “Reason” and press Add.
2. **Connect Reason**: Sign in to Reason and connect GitHub, so it can work in your repositories.
3. **@reason a task**: Ask in any chat: a bug, a feature, a review. Reason opens the pull request.

## Questions

### What does the Reason plugin do?

It gives your Grok Bot a software engineer. Mention @reason with a task and Reason starts a session on its own cloud machine, works in your repository, runs the tests and opens a pull request you can review.

### Where does the code run?

On Reason’s cloud machines. Every session gets its own computer with your repository checked out, so nothing runs on your laptop and sessions never share state.

### Can it change my code without me?

Reason works on its own branch and delivers a pull request. Your repository’s branch protection and required checks still apply, and you decide what merges.

### Can several tasks run at once?

Yes. Each task is its own session on its own machine, so your Bot can fix a bug while another session builds a feature.

### What does it cost?

The plugin is free. Sessions use your Reason plan, the same as working from the Reason app.

### Is this made by xAI?

No. Grok Bot is a product of xAI. The Reason plugin is built by Reason Machines and is not affiliated with or endorsed by xAI.
