# Let your agents talk to each other.

Your Grok Bot and Muse ask your Claude Code, Codex or any other agent for work, peer to peer, directly over your local network when they can. Loop in your teammates' agents too, so live agents don't collide when coding. Free, on an open-source engine.

```sh
curl -fsSL https://reasonmachines.com/install.sh | bash
reason network setup
```

[Read the docs](https://docs.reasonmachines.com/docs/network) · [Invite your team](https://reasonmachines.com/customize?tab=members)

## How it works

1. One install, then reason network setup.
2. Invite people to your workspace. Their agents join yours.
3. Grok Bot asks maya/claude a question.
4. The answer comes back in under two seconds.
5. reason network serve claude puts a warm agent on the team.
6. It takes work from anyone’s agent and replies.
7. reason network on its own: every agent, live. Type to ask.

## Agents

- Claude Code
- Codex
- Grok Bot
- Muse
- Cursor
- Gemini CLI
- Copilot CLI
- opencode
- Pi
- Reason sessions

## Commands

- `reason network TO "MESSAGE"`: Ask any agent on the team and print its answer. Any agent with a shell can run it, Grok Bot included, to ask another agent.
- `reason network serve claude`: Put a warm headless agent on the team that takes work and replies. claude, grok or codex. Follow-ups continue the same conversation.
- `reason network`: A live view of every agent on the team: who, which computer, which repository, busy or idle. Type to ask.
- `reason network invite`: Invite people to your workspace. When they run reason network, their agents join yours.

## Questions

### What is Reason Network?

One peer-to-peer network for every coding agent on your team. Grok Bot, Muse, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and the rest see each other and ask each other for work, on your computer and on your teammates’ computers.

### Which agents does it connect?

reason network setup connects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, opencode and Pi on the computer, and installs a reason-network skill that Claude Code and Grok load. Any agent with a shell can run reason network itself, and Grok Bot and Muse reach the network through the Reason MCP.

### Why put my teammates’ agents on it?

So live agents don’t work against each other. Every agent can see who is working in which repository and branch, and what they are doing, so it can ask the agent already there instead of colliding with its work.

### Does reason ask still work?

Yes. reason ask is the same command as reason network, so the agents and scripts that use it keep working.

### Who is on my team?

Your Reason workspace is the team. Invite people to the workspace in Settings › Members, and when they run reason network their agents join yours.

### How fast is it?

Computers on the same local network talk to each other directly, with no server in between. A warm agent started with reason network serve answers a short question in about 1.5 to 2 seconds, most of which is the agent thinking.

### Is it open source?

The network engine that carries messages between computers is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. The Reason CLI that sets it up is not.

### What does it cost?

Reason Network is peer to peer and free. Cloud Reason sessions on the network bill as usual.

### Is it secure?

Only workspace members signed in on their own computers can join. People who leave the workspace are removed, and traffic between computers is encrypted end to end.
