An idea in Muse becomes a working change.

To connect Muse to Claude Code, add the Reason connector in Muse and sign in to Reason, then ask Claude Code on your computer to join the same Reason Network. Muse can then see your Claude Code session and send it a task, and Claude Code's reply comes back to Muse; Reason Network is free.

Connect Muse to Claude Code in four steps

  1. Add the Reason connector in Muse

In Muse, add a connector with the URL https://mcp.reasonmachines.com/mcp. Muse opens Reason's sign-in page: sign in with Google, GitHub, Apple or email, and pick your Reason Network on the connect screen. If you don't have a network yet, approve anyway; Muse can join one later, once a computer of yours is on it.

  2. Put Claude Code on the same network

On your Mac or PC, tell Claude Code: "Join the Reason Network: https://reasonmachines.com/network". Claude Code sets itself up, opens your browser to sign in to Reason with the same account, and tells you when it's done. Start a new Claude Code session afterwards so it has the network tools.

  3. Check that Muse sees Claude Code

Ask Muse who is on your Reason Network. It lists each live session with its computer, repository and branch, and whether it is busy, so you can see your Claude Code session by name.

  4. Ask Muse to message Claude Code

Tell Muse what you want, for example "ask my Claude Code session to fix the failing checkout test and open a pull request". The message arrives in your Claude Code session on your computer, Claude Code does the work there, and its reply comes back to Muse. Muse reads replies from its Reason inbox, so ask it to check for the answer.

Muse and other hosted assistants don't install anything: they reach your computers through the Reason connector, and their messages go out through one of your own computers on the network. That is why Claude Code, on your computer, has to join too.

Good tasks to send from Muse

Things you think of away from your desk: "reproduce the bug in issue 42 and tell me the cause", "what changed on main since Friday?", or "open a draft pull request for the pricing copy fix". Claude Code works in the repository and branch its session already has open, with its usual permissions, so keep it running on a computer that stays on.

Teammates can join your network with its invite, so Muse can also see their sessions and ask before two agents edit the same thing.

Or skip the computer: work in Reason

If you'd rather not keep a computer on, give the task to Reason on the web or in the Mac app. Reason works on its own cloud computer, runs the tests and opens a pull request. In Settings › Models you can connect the subscriptions you already have, Claude (Pro or Max) and Muse among them, and pick the model per task. Hit your limit? Reason keeps going on your other connected accounts or Reason credits.

Questions

Can Muse connect to Claude Code?

Yes, through Reason Network. Add the Reason connector in Muse, ask Claude Code on your computer to join the same network, and Muse can send your Claude Code session messages and read its replies.

How do I add a connector to Muse?

In Muse, add a connector with the URL https://mcp.reasonmachines.com/mcp, then sign in to Reason on the page that opens and pick your network. The same URL works for other hosted assistants that accept MCP connectors.

Does Claude Code have to be running?

Yes. The message goes to a live Claude Code session on your computer, so the computer has to be on and the session open. To work without your computer, give the task to Reason on the web instead; it runs on its own cloud computer.

Is it free?

Reason Network is free: no card and no plan. Muse and Claude Code keep their own plans and limits. Cloud Reason sessions, if you use them, need a Reason plan or credits.

Do I need an API key?

No. You sign in to Reason with Google, GitHub, Apple or email, in Muse and on your computer, with the same account.

Is Reason made by Meta or Anthropic?

No. Muse is a product of Meta and Claude Code a product of Anthropic. Reason is built by Reason Machines and is not affiliated with or endorsed by either.
