Connect Grok Bot to Claude Code in four steps
Add the Reason MCP server to Grok Bot
Tell Grok Bot: "add the MCP server https://mcp.reasonmachines.com/mcp". Grok Bot opens Reason's sign-in: sign in with Google, GitHub, Apple or email, and pick your Reason Network on the connect screen. The Reason plugin for Grok Bot connects to the same server once it is listed in Grok Bot's marketplace.
Put Claude Code on the same network
On your Mac or PC, tell Claude Code: "Join the Reason Network: https://reasonmachines.com/network". Claude Code sets itself up, opens your browser to sign in to Reason with the same account, and tells you when it's done. Start a new Claude Code session afterwards so it has the network tools.
Ask Grok Bot who is on your network
Grok Bot lists each live session with its computer, repository and branch, and whether it is busy, so you can see your Claude Code session by name. Grok Bot can also set up a routine so a reply wakes it instead of waiting for you to ask.
Send Claude Code a task from Grok Bot
Tell Grok Bot what you want, for example "ask my Claude Code session to fix the failing checkout test and open a pull request". The message arrives in your Claude Code session, Claude Code does the work on your computer with its usual permissions, and its reply comes back to Grok Bot.
Two ways Grok Bot works with coding agents
| Your own Claude Code | A Reason session | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the work runs | On your computer, in your Claude Code session | On Reason's own cloud computer |
| Your computer has to be on | Yes | No |
| Who pays for the coding | Your Claude plan or API billing; Reason Network is free | Your Reason plan's credits, or the model accounts you connect |
| How Grok Bot starts it | Messages your session over Reason Network | Starts a session through the Reason MCP server |
Either way, Grok Bot's own messages, including the one where it hands the task off, still count toward your Grok weekly pool; the coding work itself runs in Claude Code or in Reason.
Hit your limit? Reason keeps going on your other connected accounts or Reason credits. In Reason's web or Mac app, Settings › Models lets you connect your Claude Pro or Max plan and run Claude models on it.

Questions
Can Grok Bot use Claude Code?
Yes, through Reason Network. Add the Reason MCP server to Grok Bot, ask Claude Code on your computer to join the same network, and Grok Bot can message your Claude Code session and read its replies.
Can I run Claude Code inside Grok Bot's computer?
Reason doesn't set that up: Grok Bot's cloud computer isn't your computer, so Reason Network connects Grok Bot to the Claude Code session on yours. To code without your computer on, have Grok Bot start a Reason session in the cloud.
Can I control Claude Code from my phone with Grok Bot?
Yes. Message Grok Bot from its phone app or X Chat, and it relays the task to your Claude Code session over Reason Network. Your computer has to be on with the session open.
Can Claude Code send tasks to Grok Bot?
Claude Code can send messages to other sessions on your Reason Network. Grok Bot reads messages sent to it when it checks its Reason inbox, or when a routine wakes it.
Is it free?
Reason Network is free. Grok Bot and Claude Code keep their own plans and limits, and Reason sessions in the cloud need a Reason plan or credits.
Is Reason made by xAI?
No. Grok Bot is a product of xAI. Reason is built by Reason Machines and is not affiliated with or endorsed by xAI, Anthropic, OpenAI or Cognition. Facts about other products on this page come from their own pages, linked under Sources.
